pre-New Year Hijinks

The past year has been interesting, to say the least. A lot, most of which is good, has happened. It was a test of patience in places, a test of strength in some, and a test of will in most.

I will perhaps remember 2015 when it is long past, as the year when I began to recognise how much power I have over my life, as I recovered full throttle, from my long bout with mental illness.

It was a year of blessings, too. I was blessed with clarity, as I began to separate the wheat from the chaff in my life, learned my priorities, and became a little bolder in going after my heart's desires.

And always, as has been my wont, I recognise that I would not have accomplished the things I did, without the guidance and protection of God, on whom I lean when I am weak, my constant source of strength and inspiration, and an Infinite well of Love.

As midnight heralds 2016, my wish for everyone is that we rise above the din of life, find that quiet space in our hearts, open it to God, and welcome our neighbours who need us most in it. For, as the revered genius Albert Einstein put it, only a life lived for others is a life worth living.

Namaste.

The Promise

A montage I laid out, printed and framed to give as a gift to friends. A favourite passage of mine. Never fails to lift my spirits.

bonifacio|bonifacio

took a photo walk on Bonifacio Day in Bonifacio High Street. This was taken in the optical shop while I was waiting to get my new contact lenses. I love the place. Apart from being photogenic, it is dynamic. It is never the same place twice. And I admit I have a bias for it because well, I feel like I am among friends whenever I visit. It was a lovely Monday morning when I went there, after dropping by the hospital where I work. Most memorable during this visit were the remnants of decorations that festooned the place for an event. It felt like eavesdropping on someone's home after a party. It wasn't messy or anything, but you could still feel the reverberations of the positive energy that must have enveloped the place in the previous days. And the Christmas tableaus were about. It was heartening to feel the anticipation for such a special day, especially for families!

Yuletide 2015

I had a good run this year, I have so many things to thank God for. Since I am a certified Christmas Freak, my only prayer for the Savior's Birthday is that we welcome Him into our hearts and let Him rule our lives. May we learn to surrender our will to the Author of Life, that we may realise his plans to prosper us ad give us hope and a future, and not bring us to harm, as was promised to us through the Prophet Jeremiah. Know that I always send up a prayer for those who need it. May we all know Peace this Season and throughout the coming year. God bless y'all!
